Fogging with Air-Raid
Air-Raid is the ideal product to fog when it is desirable to reduce:
- Microbial numbers in the airspace and surfaces.
- Dust in the airspace.
- Black mould levels on surfaces. (Aspergillus niger spores)
Since Air-Raid includes strong cleaning capacity, fogging also coats surfaces with a residual layer of cleaning materials. That makes subsequent cleaning much easier as it reduces the adherence of subsequent soiling.
Many niche areas are well served by fogging with this product:
- Airports for highly contagious viruses like SARS and Ebola.
- Hospital wards for elimination of Clostridium difficile spores.
- Thoroughbred stables for dust, fungal spores and respiratory viruses.
- Chicken hatcheries for fungal spores and bacteria on eggs.
- Glasshouses for bacterial and fungal contamination of plants.
The aim is to lightly coat the surfaces with droplets but to avoid outright soaking, as it is simply wasteful to have liquid running off surfaces. The settling liquid droplets will find their way into the narrow spaces frequented by problematic microbes.
The operating procedure is to:
- Fill fogging machine with ready to use Air-Raid solution.
- Remove the humans or animals although this is not strictly necessary.
- Establish the most appropriate droplet size if the fogging device has that feature.
- Fog only for the time needed to lightly coat the surfaces.
- Rinse with clean water if desirable but most people chose not to take this step.
- Access is immediate after fogging with caution for the wetness of floors.
